Gun violence is a serious public health threat — and informed, empowered health professionals can be part of the solution. Join leaders from the OHSU Gun Violence Prevention Research Center for a conversation about the impact of gun violence in Oregon and practical strategies for prevention.

About the presenters:

Kathleen Carlson, M.S., Ph.D., Joel Burnett, M.D., R ’21, FACP, Katie Iossi, M.D., R ’12, M.P.H., FACP and Kelsi Manley, M.D., R ’21, FACP are OHSU faculty and founding leaders of the OHSU Gun Violence Prevention Research Center and its Speakers Bureau. Their goal is to educate healthcare professionals about the firearm injury epidemic and empower them to advocate for firearm injury prevention with patients and within our institutions, communities and state.
